blackenedbutterfly-deactivated-2:
hey does anyone know how much safer it would be to order the patches of estrogen vs the pills (as a pack-a-day smoker)
You really should try quitting or cutting down on smoking if you’re going on hormones (especially when self-medicating because you could be dosing too high) because hormones increase the risk of blood clots, and of course smoking does too so like, it’s a really bad combination.
The reason patches are better is that pills are tough for your liver to process so over time your liver can get fucked over, so estrogen patches are ideal. Spiro or other anti-androgens (the things that stop testosterone from being produced) don’t come in patch form, so when you’re self-medicating it’s best to drink around a liter of water a day so you can flush out your liver’s fucked-upness.
But yeah I would really consider quitting smoking before Bridge starts\=I’ve been told by my doc that the patches are much safer for blood clots. She didn’t say by how much, but that it was significant enough that if I have a FH of that, to avoid it.
At the same time, other ppl have said to dissolve the tablets under your tongue to avoid fucking over your liver because it’ll go straight to the bloodstream through there, instead of through your digestive system first.

Actually, sublingual administration of drugs who are meant to be absorbed through your digestive system is not that great of an alternative, because while it might somewhat spare your liver, the concentration of active substance/hormone in your blood will be significantly smaller than intended (so it would be like under-dosing, even if you’re using the recommended dosage) and thus the desired effect will also be less, if at all visible.

Don’t ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody.

Via Feral.Found some prejudice in my notes this morning 👎 #medschool #notcool #prejudice (Taken with instagram)
I hear you, found something similar in my parasitology textbook (i assume these notes are on the same subject), proceeded to rage for a few minutes, stuck a piece of post it over it and wrote “unprotected (anal)sex” on it. It helped me not rage again when i was reviewing it before the exam.
image: a crying child on a white background. text: ” I am biologically a female. I identify as genderfluid, but I hate labels and don’t make a habit of learning them. I submitted a photo of myself in campy drag queen style that made me happy to a queer acceptance blog. Because I failed to mention exactly what I “was”, I got a lot of hate notes calling me a transmisogynist and other names. I feel so bullied and alone when other queers question my sincerity and attack my sexuality because I’m bad at labeling myself. “
I think i know who this is/what this is about and it seems like you, secretmaker, still don’t understand that the “other queers” were in fact not attacking your sexuality/lack-of-labeling/sincerity, they were pointing out the very present and very real issues in the description that went with that photo. It’s too bad that you’d rather keep on feeling attacked and slighted instead of trying to grasp the fact that you might truly have been offensive to trans women, even if you did not intend to.
